Interview Strategist is an AI-powered résumé, application, and interview coach built on one rule: it never invents your experience.
Core philosophy
The AI acts like a senior recruiter, hiring manager, and interview coach. It will preserve your real chronology, employers, dates, and titles. It will label any claim it cannot verify as a gap or inference, and it will insert placeholders like [Candidate: provide <what is needed>] wherever facts are missing.
Getting started
- Sign in at the top-right (email + password).
- Open Intake from the left sidebar.
- Paste your résumé and the job requisition / posting.
- Fill in your name, target job title, employer, and requisition number.
- Click Save intake.
- Return to Generate → Fit Analysis to run your first deliverable.

The Intake screen
Everything the coach knows about you lives in Intake. There are two big fields — your résumé and the requisition — plus four structured fields and a Notes for the coach box.

The left sidebar lists every deliverable under Generate. Each page shows a description, a verification warning, a Generate / Regenerate button, a Copy button, and a rendered Markdown panel.

Fit analysis deep dive
The Fit Analysis is the most powerful tool. It produces an overall fit score (0–100), a category breakdown for skills, experience, impact, and keywords, a keyword gap checklist, and an evidence table labeling each requirement as Direct, Transferable, Partial, Unverified, or Gap.
- Adjustable weights: drag the category sliders to change how the overall score is calculated. The score recalculates instantly.
- Evidence drilldown: click any contributing evidence row to see exactly why it raised or lowered a category score.
- Generate a fix: on expanded evidence chips, get a targeted résumé bullet that closes the gap.
- Insert into résumé: choose a fix length (Shorter / Standard / Expanded), place it in your résumé editor, adjust placement, and undo if you change your mind.
- Version history: every Fit Analysis is saved automatically. Open the History panel to compare versions side-by-side or restore an older one.
Mock interview
Navigate to Practice → Mock Interview in the sidebar. The interviewer uses your Intake to ask one question at a time, then scores your answer 1–5 on Relevance, Clarity, Credibility, Specificity, and Results. It also flags overstated claims before asking the next question.
- Pro users: choose how many questions you want (5–20) before the interview starts.
- Free users: get 6 turns.
- Voice mode: tap the microphone to answer verbally. A Play-question button is available if your browser blocks autoplay audio.
- Download transcript: at the end of the interview, get a Word document with every question, your answer, and the feedback.
Ask the Coach
The Ask the Coach chatbot is available as a floating bubble on every screen, or as a full-page chat under Practice → Ask the Coach. It can answer questions about interview strategy, résumé wording, offer negotiation, salary expectations, and how to navigate the site. It follows the same truthfulness rule as the deliverables: it will not invent facts, and it will ask you to provide real details when needed.
Coach Connect
Coach Connect pairs you with a human interview coach for a 7-day Coached Sprint. The coach prepares a Full-Package DOCX, walks it with you on a 15-minute kickoff Zoom, reviews the mock interviews and Ask the Coach threads you share, then debriefs you on a second 15-minute Zoom.
- Book a sprint: on the Coach Connect page, choose a coach, state your goals, and pay $149 via Stripe. The sprint activates immediately and you get 7 days of Pro practice access.
- Share your practice: during the sprint, every mock interview and Ask the Coach thread has a Share with my coach button so your coach can review your actual work before the debrief.
- Track progress: your sprint checklist shows package preparation, kickoff call, practice week, and debrief call, plus notes and feedback from your coach.
- Become a coach: approved coaches can apply through the Coach Portal ($49/mo subscription) and set their own booking link for the two Zoom calls.
Application Bank
The Application Bank tracks every job you apply to. Each job includes company, role title, location, source URL, status (Saved / Applied / Interviewing / Offer / Rejected / Archived), applied date, salary range, and notes.
For each job, you can add interview journal entries (date, round, interviewers, questions asked, rating, and reflections) and generate thank-you letters for specific interviewers.

Go to the Account → Redeem a code page and enter a scholarship code. Public codes such as WINNIEFREEPRO grant free Pro access and unlimited DOCX exports. Some codes may expire after a set number of days — the redeem page will show your access expiration date.
On the Account page you can upgrade, buy an export credit, manage billing via Stripe, view your generation count, and redeem codes. If you paid for a DOCX export but the download did not start, open the Account page — it reconciles Stripe purchases automatically when you return.
Exporting your work
- Copy — every deliverable page has a Copy button for the current output.
- Full package (.docx) — on the Account page, one click downloads a single Word document. The app generates any missing deliverables, then assembles them with your Application Bank summary. Included with Pro, or $4.99 once.
- Mock transcript (.docx) — at the end of an interview, downloads the full Q&A and feedback.
- History — most deliverables keep the last 25 versions. Use the History panel to compare or restore an earlier version.
DOCX exports are included with Pro or available via the $4.99 one-time credit. If you do not have access, the app will prompt you to upgrade or buy the export.
Admin tools
If you are the project owner, an Admin link appears under Account → Admin in the sidebar. It shows a searchable table of every user with username, email, plan, generation count, export credits, jobs, journal entries, thank-you letters, and purchases, plus an Export CSV button.
From the user table, an admin can also Grant Pro, Revoke Pro, or add a +1 export credit to any account without requiring a coupon code.
Tips for best results
- Paste full text, not summaries. The AI is only as good as the source material you give it.
- Be honest about gaps. The AI will find unsupported claims anyway.
- Review every placeholder and replace it with real, verified information.
- Use the Fit Analysis first to decide whether the role is worth a full résumé rewrite.
- Generate cover letters and cheat sheets after the Fit Analysis.
- Track every job in the Application Bank for faster thank-you notes and interview prep.
- For thank-you notes, include real details: names, roles, and specific conversation points.
Privacy & disclaimer
All data is private to your account and protected by row-level security. Nothing is shared with other users or employers. The AI can make mistakes — verify every claim, date, and metric before sending anything. The app is a coaching tool, not a guarantee of employment.
